Tour Description

The King of the Rock Tour is the best way to experience Central Australia.

The three day Uluru Tour leaves Wednesdays at around 6am and runs over three days. Day one consists of a 6 hour drive to Uluru. You will visit the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta (Olgas) then watch the sunset over Ayers Rock. Day two includes an Uluru sunrise and Ayers Rock base walk together with traditional Aboriginal Cultural Teachings. Next we drive to Kings Canyon to set up camp. Day three includes a Kings Canyon walk and a visit to the Garden of Eden before returning back to Alice. All meals and accommodation are included in this 3 day Uluru tour! IT also includes a FREE camel ride!!!

Day 4 and 5 you'll Leave the tourists behind to explore the ancient landscape of the Western Macs (Western MacDonnell Ranges). Beginning and finishing in Alice Springs we visit the Desert Park, Ormiston Gorge, Glen Helen and the incredible Mt Sonder.

Accommodation included on day 3 in Alice springs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kings Canyon L/D included

We'll pick you up around 6am and travel to Kings Canyon, viewing the beautiful George Gill Range along the way. Enjoy a filling lunch before we take on the spectacular Kings Canyon rim walk. We will visit the North and South walls, The Garden of Eden, as well as the Natural Amphitheatre. After this amazing walk we hit the road towards our private bush camp on an outback cattle station where we fire up the BBQ and have dinner and laughs around the campfire under the incredible outback sky. Later, get into your swags for a perfect view of the stars.

Day 2: Kata Tjuta & Uluru B/L/D included

Early start as we head to Kata Tjuta for a walk through the Valley of the Winds. After, we head to the Cultural Centre for lunch and a better insight into the flora, fauna and the local Aboriginal people of the Red Centre. We take you on a short guided interpretive walk at the base of Uluru. We then head off to watch the spectacular Uluru sunset while enjoying a glass of bubbly. Then it’s back to our camp to enjoy a hearty meal, a hot shower and another night under the stars.

Day 3: Uluru B/L included

Enjoy a cooked breakfast before watching the sunrise over Uluru. Afterwards, you have the chance to walk around this amazing monolith. After lunch we start the journey back to Alice Springs. On the way home stopping at the camel farm for a FREE camel ride. We arrive back in Alice late afternoon.

Day 4 - Desert Park & Ormiston Gorge - L/D included

This morning you'll be picked up around 7am. Our first top for the day is the Alice Springs Desert Park where we get up close and personal with the flora and fauna that the outback has to offer. We visit the nocturnal house, check out the dingos and kangaroos and finish off with an amazing bird of prey show. Afterwards we head to the spectacular Ormiston Gorge for lunch. After lunch we enjoy a 4 hour hike through the Ormiston pound. Keep a lookout for the ever elusive Black-Footed Rock Wallaby as we hike through this amazing gorge. A short drive takes us to our camp site at Glen Helen Resort where we enjoy a scrumptious dinner before rolling out our swags under the amazing outback sky.

Day 5 - Mt Sonder & Glen Helen B/L included

Early start this morning as we take on the most breathtaking mountain in the West Macdonnell Ranges, Mt Sonder. This 16km hike has some of the most rewarding views you will ever see. Afterwards we head back to Glen Helen Resort for a BBQ lunch and time to enjoy a cold beer and explore Glen Helen Gorge. We head back to Alice late afternoon as the sun sets on these magnificent ranges.
